Feedback for the CSc 8270 written project proposals:

Proofread

Get the references right. We are NOT using MLA or APA styles. Use IEEE or
ACM style, but one XOR the other.

Get the references right. Don't mix formats. Book titles in italics,
article titles go in double quotes, put the conference location and 
dates for a conference...

Wikipedia is not a good reference. You can use it under certain circumstances,
but you should not rely on it for factual information!
How do you know if it is correct?

Discuss all figures within the text.

"Project report and presentation" are not expressly needed on a timeline.
The timeline should talk about your unique work. 

"Literature survey" does not belong on the timeline. You should have already
obtained your references.

MATLAB is the way to refer to the software that we use, not Matlab or matlab
or MathLab.

You don't need to revise the proposal. 
"Since this is later than the written proposal, you can include updates."
By this I mean that you can include updates in the presentation that you give.

You can use other software BUT this should be something that I can access,
too. If you cannot set it up on a lab machine that we can both access,
then you should use something else.

Explain any uncommon terms. Stereopsis? Parallax? 

Explain your tasks. Why do so many people have "Mid Term Analysis"? 

Your tasks should be specific to your project, not things that would
apply to anyone doing any project.

Spell out any uncommon references. What do Rest., ASSP, and Clim. stand for?
Even ones like SPIE and SIGGRAPH could be spelled out; I know what they
are, but I don't know if you know. 

"Equipment needed. List any hardware and software that you need to do the 
project." If you list specific hardware and software, I assume that you 
NEED it specifically for your project. Be clear -- if you list your
own computer, and include the model number and technical specifications,
also indicate that it's yours. For example, do you NEED MATLAB r11b, or
would r09a also work? Do you list it only because you happen to have r11b?
