Comments for Class csc4210

Test post   [Dr_Weeks]   Aug 23, 2017 at 13:21:04
This is a simple system to post questions and comments related to class. If you are enrolled in this class, you can log in with your first name followed by an underscore, then your last initial. Then use your official e-mail address (before the @) as your password. The password will not be displayed. For example, suppose your name is John Doe, and your account name is jdoe4@student.gsu.edu. Then you would log in as "John_D" with a password of "jdoe4".

P-type vs N-type   [Christopher_H]   Aug 28, 2017 at 10:07:41
Whats the difference between a P-type transistor and an N-type transistor.

Re: class schedule   [Dr_Weeks]   Aug 28, 2017 at 12:52:26
Quizzes will be approximately every 3 weeks. The midterm must be no later than October 2, but I'll let the class vote on what day they want.

Re: P-type vs N-type   [Dr_Weeks]   Aug 28, 2017 at 12:55:52
Here is a link to information about transistors. It contains most of the things that we covered last week.

what is the main difference between selective and redundancy prime   [Philipos_Z]   Aug 30, 2017 at 20:40:53
what is the main difference between selective and redundancy prime

Re: what is the main difference between selective and redundancy prime   [Dr_Weeks]   Sep 6, 2017 at 12:31:17
Selective means that you must choose one of at least two equally-good options. Redundant means that the term is not needed.

Homework 3   [Cynthia_K]   Sep 10, 2017 at 12:11:13
Just received the notification that all classes are suspended tomorrow. So how do we submit the hw?

Re: Homework 3   [Dr_Weeks]   Sep 10, 2017 at 21:18:33
Turn it in on Wednesday, or whenever the class meets next.

-QL waveform   [Poonam_P]   Sep 16, 2017 at 10:56:31
I dont remember going over the -QL waveform drawing.. Is it the opposite of QR? and if so, are there any exceptions?

Re: -QL waveform   [Dr_Weeks]   Sep 17, 2017 at 11:36:24
-QL is one of the outputs from the design that we studied. I do not think that we draw a graph for it in class, but we had to know its value to find QR. Since -QL drives the value at QR (at least sometimes), but QR does not drive the -QL value, it is possible that they are not always opposites.

Hw3   [Isaac_A]   Sep 17, 2017 at 11:55:06
Hey Professor, so I was looking at the description you put for the homework, and then I referred back to Ch1 problem 16 in the book and it doesn't match with what you're asking for. Ch1 problem 16 in book is asking us to work with unsigned decimals using 10's complement. If you could clear the confusion that would be great, thanks.

Hw 3   [Poonam_P]   Sep 17, 2017 at 16:48:24
I believe its two separate HW problems ...

-QL and QR   [Rubayth_H]   Sep 17, 2017 at 22:51:03
Can someone explain what is -QL and QR. I was not here Wednesday and looked in the book and could not find anything.

Hw3   [Isaac_A]   Sep 17, 2017 at 23:16:31
Thank you for clearing up my confusion

Re: Hw3   [Dr_Weeks]   Sep 18, 2017 at 07:32:26
Poonam is correct: there are two separate homework problems.

Also, make sure that you are using the correct book.

Re: -QL and QR   [Dr_Weeks]   Sep 18, 2017 at 07:33:57
You will need to get the notes from Wednesday's class. There is a hand-out that you are missing.

10/2 Class?   [Jae_K]   Oct 2, 2017 at 12:01:47
Was class cancelled after incident?

Re: 10/2 Class?   [Dr_Weeks]   Oct 3, 2017 at 09:34:24
We will resume on Wednesday. The quiz will not include anything beyond Chapter 2.

Monday Homework   [James_H]   Nov 12, 2017 at 12:09:36
There does not seem to be a homework assignment listed for tomorrow's class. I was wondering if this were a mistake, or if we were just getting a week off?

Re: Monday Homework   [Dr_Weeks]   Nov 13, 2017 at 07:10:49
It did not post. I have it up there now, but due on the 15th.
